Two Part-Time Sureth (Syriac ) Language Teachers for Kids

Job Description:

We are seeking an enthusiastic two Sureth language teachers to join our team and provide engaging language lessons to children. Sureth is a fascinating and ancient language with a rich cultural heritage, and we believe that introducing it to young learners can be a transformative experience. As a Sureth teacher, you will have the opportunity to inspire children to embrace linguistic diversity and develop a deeper understanding of this historically significant language.

Responsibilities:

  1. Plan and deliver interactive Sureth language lessons tailored to the needs and interests of young students.
  2. Create a positive and encouraging learning environment that fosters curiosity and enthusiasm for the Sureth language.
  3. Utilize a variety of teaching materials, including multimedia resources, games, and interactive activities, to make the learning process enjoyable and effective.
  4. Assess each child’s progress and provide constructive feedback to guide their language development.
  5. Encourage regular practice and conversation in Sureth to enhance language fluency and pronunciation.
  6. Collaborate with parents or guardians to share students’ progress and suggest ways to support language learning at home.
  7. Cultivate an appreciation for Sureth culture and history through language instruction.

Requirements:

  1. Proficiency in the Sureth language, preferably as a native speaker or with near-native fluency.
  2. Previous experience in teaching Sureth or other languages to children is an advantage, but not mandatory.
  3. Passion for language teaching and a genuine interest in working with young learners.
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with children effectively.
  5. Patience, adaptability, and creativity in developing engaging lesson plans.
  6. Ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment that celebrates diversity.
  7. Access to a reliable internet connection and necessary teaching materials.

Schedule:

  • Teaching will be part-time and can be scheduled during the afternoons or evenings on weekdays, depending on the availability of the teacher.
  • Saturday’s classes may also be included during the day or evening, based on the demand.
  • Each course is up to 8 weeks, 1.5–3 hours per week.

Compensation: Payment will be provided on an hourly basis, and you will be considered an independent contractor. All payments will be made based on the 1099 form. Teacher will receive a copy of the 1099 form for tax return.
