Notice to the Readers

Dear Parents, Teachers, and Syriac Language Enthusiasts,

ܒܫܝܢܐ B’shayna! Welcome to Modern Syriac Language (referred to as Syriac), which is also known as Sureth ܐ̄ܣܘܪܬ, Swādāyā ܣܘܝܕܝܐ ,Chaldean language ܠܫܢܐ ܟܠܕܝܐ, or Assyrian language ܠܫܢܐ ܐܬܘܪܝܐ.

We are thrilled to introduce a captivating children’s book in the Syriac language, designed to inspire young minds and celebrate our rich cultural heritage. This book, titled My First Sureth Book, beautifully combines Sureth Alphabetical (Alap Beth– ܐܠܦ ܒܝܬ), Numbers (Minyaneh– ܡܢܝܢ̈ܐ ), Calendar (Surgathah– ܣܘܪܓܕܐ), Food (Eekhalah– ܐܝܟܠܐ), Human Body (Gooshmah D Barnashah – ܓܘܫܡܐ ܕܒܪܢܫܐ), and words learning to engage and educate children in an immersive Sureth reading experience.

At Aramaic Studies, we understand the importance of preserving our linguistic and cultural heritage, especially for future generations. We believe that literature plays a significant role in nurturing language skills and promoting cultural identity. With that in mind, we have carefully crafted this enchanting Sureth children’s book to entertain and educate young readers.

We have taken great care to ensure that the language used in My First Sureth Book is accessible and suitable for children of various age groups. While this book is primarily targeted towards early readers, we believe that it will also appeal to older children and even adults who are learning the Sureth language or wish to reconnect with their cultural roots.

Whether your child is a beginner or already familiar with Sureth, My First Sureth Book provides an excellent opportunity to develop language skills, expand vocabulary, and foster a love for reading. It is our hope that this book will become a cherished resource for families, schools, and community organizations seeking to promote Syriac language and culture.

Copies of My First Sureth Book can be obtained from www.aramaicstudies.org. We also welcome your feedback and suggestions as we strive to create more engaging and educational materials in Sureth.

Thank you for your continued support in our mission to promote the Sureth language and preserve our cultural heritage.

Sincerely,
